This was a small but detailed project I built for a history museum in Texas. It features a hand-hewn Eastern Red Cedar log, sapling rafters, dovetail floor joists, and live edge roof lath—all true to traditional building methods.

It was a fun and rewarding build, and I’m proud to have been part of creating something that helps share our history with others.

My good friend Paul Glidwell—known on YouTube as The Bearded Carpenter—invited me to help with a large, two-story log home in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. I worked on cutting and setting the log walls before returning home, so the photos show the home in progress.

Even though it’s not finished yet, this project is off to a great start. It’s shaping up to be a truly special home.

This couple had their two-story log cabin built 30 years ago by three of my mentors—Gary, Alan, and Lenny. Recently, they reached out to me to design and build an addition to their beautiful home.

It’s an honor to continue the work started by the craftsmen who taught me, and to add to a home that’s already full of history and character.
